Green Ranch project put on hold

Tamara Miller

EAGLE COUNTY ” The Board of County Commissioners decided to delay their decision on a developer’s plan to build several homes in a rural neighborhood south of Edwards.

Fred Green, who owns a 28-acre piece of property on Lake Creek Road, asked the board to delay their decision on his project during a hearing Monday night and the board agreed. The project appeared to be heading toward denial, according to county staff reports.

Green wants permission to put 21 homes, plus a caretaker residence, on the property. Right now, there is only one home.

Several of his neighbors oppose his project because they say it would change the rural character of the Lake Creek valley.

The decision has been tentatively rescheduled for 6 p.m. May 2 in the Eagle County Room at 500 Broadway in Eagle.
