ANCHORAGE, Alaska ” A 21-year-old Utah woman was attacked by a grizzly bear about 25 yards from a lodge.

The attack happened late Wednesday as Abby Sist returned to the Kenai Princess Lodge in Cooper Landing from a hike.

Sist was taken to a nearby hospital and then transferred to Anchorage. Ipsen says Sist was undergoing emergency surgery Thursday morning.

Her condition and hometown were not immediately available.
