Ground Breaking Ceremony – Multi-Use Facility at Eagle County Fairgrounds
EAGLE COUNTY ” A ground breaking ceremony for-the new multi-use building at the Eagle County Fairgrounds will take place on Monday, September 26, at 4 p.m.
County Commissioners, fair board-and 4-H members, the Freedom Riders equestrian drill team, Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District and Town of Eagle officials will mark the start of construction on the project approved by the board and planning commission in August.
?The proposed facility will be 150 feet x 300 feet in dimension and is estimated to cost approximately $2.4 million; inclusive of all site work, infrastructure and the-structure-itself. The facility will fulfill one of the specific identified needs of the Eagle County Fairgrounds Recreation Master Plan.-
A multi-use facility of the type proposed was-identified as an important addition to the community through needs assessment surveys conducted as part of the Recreation Master Plan process.?
The concept for the proposed facility was formed by a citizen advisory committee appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to evaluate community needs and potential uses.
Uses anticipated for the facility may include 4-H activities, roping events, barrel racing, livestock shows, car shows, dog shows,-potential use as a field house and practice facility for field sports.-
The facility will also be utilized to serve a variety of other community events.?
The Ceremony will take place at the building site in the west parking lot at the fairgrounds. The public is welcome to attend.
