Guest bartenders shake cocktails for a cause in Vail
VAIL – In 2008, Vail’s Larkspur restaurant initiated its Benefit of the Month program, during which 100 percent of the sales from the house-filtered, bottled water are donated to a nonprofit. “Larkspur’s guests endorse the program,” said General Manager Rob Sinclair. “The information about this month’s benefit is printed on the menu, and our guests enjoy contributing to the local causes.”Last week, Larkspur began a new philanthropic program named the “Guest Bartender Series.” Larkspur’s bar provides the space for the event. The guest bartenders work alongside Larkspur’s staff, shaking cocktails for the cause and receiving a share of tips. Larkspur donates two gift cards plus a “‘chefs table for four” as prizes to be raffled.Held during May and June on Wednesday nights, there are six Guest Bartender fundraisers. Last week’s kickoff to the series was a benefit for Ski & Snowboard Club Vail’s summer camp.
