Gypsum: Bad parking job gets man arrested
Gypsum, CO Colorado
GYPSUM, Colorado – A deputy was patrolling a Gypsum subdivision Jan. 6 when he observed a car parked partly on the sidewalk.
He had issued warnings to numerous vehicles in front of that particular residence in the past. As he was issuing a warning to the vehicle he heard another vehicle running in the driveway of the same residence.
A 27-year-old woman was in the driver’s seat of a white pick-up truck. A man was in the passenger seat and numerous empty beer containers were in the bed of the truck. The car didn’t have any license plates and was not used for driving, just sitting in the driveway.
The woman was warned for drinking inside a running vehicle, because the action could result in a DUI.
The man gave the deputy a Mexican ID. The officer thought he was familiar but couldn’t remember how he knew him. It turned out the man had an active warrant in Eagle County and had been deported in 2007 when the officer had arrested him on several charges, including DUI.
The man was taken to jail, booked on the warrant and placed on a hold for immigration.

Are we seeing more bears because there are more bears on the valley floor, or because we’re all spending more time at home? It could be a bit of both.
