Gypsum: Construction to start on Stratton Flats condos
Gypsum, CO Colorado
GYPSUM, Colorado ” Andy Forstl would show families that couldn’t afford single-family homes at Stratton Flats in Gypsum, Colorado one of the development’s Townhomes. Forstl, sales manager for Stratton Flats, didn’t have anything to offer people that couldn’t afford the townhomes.
Now he does.
Construction of the first condominium building at Stratton Flats will start late this spring and will be finished by the end of the year.
“It’s exciting for us,” Forstl said. “We’ve had to turn away 20 people, we didn’t have anything to put them in.”
The 33-unit building will have both one- and two-bedroom condos and some of the best prices in the valley, Forstl said. One-bedroom units will start at $148,500 and the two-bedroom units will go for $207,000.
Reservations for 13 different condos have already been made.
“People have been waiting for it,” Forstl said of the condo building. “The time has come to do one of these.”
The development is a partnership between the town of Gypsum, Meritage Development and Eagle County, which invested $4.5 million in the project. The finished product will be a mix of 339 deed-restricted and free market condos, townhomes and single-family homes.
More than half the condos in the new building will be Gypsum deed-restricted units, none of which have appreciation caps on them.
“Now we’ve got this third product, we can fit everybody’s price,” Forstl said. “These will be the lowest priced condos in the valley.”
