Gypsum Elementary hosts parents night
Gypsum Elementary hosted the first of many “Network Nights” at the school, Oct.14th.
Network Nights are for parents to come to the school with their kids to learn about various programs and issues that deal specifically with Gypsum Elementary. The school currently serves around 350 students, including pre-school students.
The school is one of two elementary schools in the town of Gypsum, and is located near Eagle Valley High School.
One night per month is set aside for these discussions and the recent night was geared towards family math, Star Lab, Title I, “Read to Achieve” and safety. Staff members answered questions about the programs.
Over 50 pizzas were devoured by around 250 parents and kids who were there to learn. Next month’s sessions will cover math on a more in-depth level and will include discussions on the “EAGLE” program.
“We’re very pleased with the participation,” says school spokeswoman Marta Ellsworth. “It was great to see how involved parents are in their child’s education.”
