Gypsum prepares for aircraft demo
GYPSUM, Colorado – The Vail Valley Jet Center in partnership with the Vail Automotive Classic’s Wheels & Wings and the Federal Aviation Administration have worked together to accomplish closing airspace over Eagle County Regional Airport for the Warbird flight demonstration. “We are excited to offer attendees of the event a greater feel of the aircraft,” says Jaime Roosa of the Vail Valley Jet Center. “This year, we have had a tremendous amount of interest in this event, and to be able to offer an airshow of this kind is unprecedented. It will take the Wings part of the event to the next level – and will draw even greater interest next year.”The flyover will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday. It will include a T-28, T-6, P-51 Mustang, Sea Fury and CJ-6. In addition to the flyover, there are over 40 aircraft on static display. The Vail Automotive Classic kicks off Friday with the first live auto auction in Eagle County. The preview begins at 4 p.m., with live music from Hardscrabble kicking off at 4:30 p.m., barbecue, and a cash bar.On Saturday, doors to the Wheels & Wings show open at 10 a.m. Over 40 static aircraft, flyover of the Warbirds, display of over 100 automobiles and motorcycles make this event unique.On Sunday, the cars move to Vail Village, and will be on display in Vail Village, as well as atop the Vail Village Parking structure.For more details, log on to vailautomotiveclassic.com.
The proposed deal would be a three-way agreement between the town, the developer and the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District.
