Gypsum’s Tom Harned is one of five honorees of Club 20, the regional lobbying organization that represents 20 counties on Colorado’s Western Slope.

Harned joined Fred Kroeger of Durango, Doralyn Genova of Grand Junction, Nick Theos of Meeker and Eric Johnson, formerly of Redstone. All were honored for service to Club 20 at the organization’s recent annual banquet.

Harned received the Preston Walker Award for his commitment and service to the organization. He’s been active in Club 20 for two decades and is a representative of Eagle County’s delegate to the organization.

He has also served as past president and board member of the Eagle Valley Chamber of Commerce; is a commissioner on the Colorado State Fair Board and served as a director on the Vail Board of Realtors.

Kroeger was awarded the John Vanderhoof Award which recognized outstanding dedication to western Colorado. Vanderhoof is a former Colorado Governor.

Genova, a Mesa county commissioner, is the first recipient of the Dan Noble Award presented to an elected official for service in western Colorado.

Theos and Johnson were jointly awarded the Johnson/Theos Bridge-Builder Award. It honors the two men from different backgrounds who championed different perspectives yet were able to forge a friendship and work together on behalf of Club 20 and the Western Slope.
