Habitat for Humanity’s Carpenter’s Ball set for Saturday
VAIL CO, Colorado
VAIL- On Saturday, Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties (HFHELC) will celebrate the organization’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. The annual ball will feature international food and wine in a progressive format that allows attendees to mingle and try new foods while raising money to support the efforts of HFHELC.
“This year’s Carpenter’s Ball takes all of the things people love about past events and couples it with a fun and flowing experience that makes mingling and socializing easier while sampling many great food and drink pairings,” said John Welaj, executive director of HFHELC. “We expect the event will be a tremendous success and have great auction items and packages that are sure to gain attention.”
Some highlights of the auction include a VIP stay at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas; A fun package to the Great American Beer Festival in downtown Denver this October; a one-year membership to the new Vail Gondola Club; an Eat! Drink! epicurean adventure class for 20; a private dinner for six at Flame Restaurant and lots of other great items.
In addition, the talented Chef Richard Hinojosa of Larkspur Restaurant has designed six, three-course tasting menus paired with great wine and other beverages. From braised fennel citrus sea scallops to little Larkburgers at the USA station. Shrimp pad Thai to steamed pork bao in Asia and Pacific. Creme fraiche pierogi and a Hungarian risotto with spring pea pancetta create the European flavors with Veuve Clicquot to compliment the cuisine at that station.
“The Carpenter’s Ball is a great way for all of our supporters to get together and raise money for the important cause of providing opportunities for stable homes for members of our community,” Welaj said. “At the end of the evening all the fun benefits that singular and important cause.”
