One thing is certain, there’s something for each ghost, ghoul and goblin happening in Eagle County this Halloweekend.The Rocky Horror Show, replete with a cross dressing cast and a toast-throwing audience, takes the stage at the old Battle Mountain High School in Eagle-Vail for two shows tonight and another two Saturday night. Sylvan Lake State Park will host an evening of ghost stories and autumn treats in honor of Halloween. It is free to attend, and will take place at the “Haunted” Visitor’s Center from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday. This family-friendly event will include localized ghost stories told by staff and volunteers. Sylvan Lake is the perfect place for ghost stories, as it is surrounded by ghost towns, abandoned mines and deserted homes and ranch buildings from a long-forgotten time.After the reading, brave visitors are encouraged to put on a headlamp and take a walk around the lake to see which spirits are flying about. Please RSVP to 970-328-2021.Minturn trick or treat nightThe town of Minturn is hosting its trick or treat night on Saturday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Town staff and volunteers will hand out candy in front of the town hall building at 302 Pine Street. Staff from the Minturn Police Department and the Eagle River Fire Protection District will be stationed around town on Halloween night as well to ensure that children and their families are able to safely cross the street as they seek out Halloween treats.
