Hands-on yoga workshop set for Saturday in Vail
VAIL – With the increasing popularity of yoga in Colorado’s Vail Valley, The Yoga Studio at the Vail Athletic Club is taking a hands-on approach to teaching safely and skillfully with The Art of Adjustments, a workshop designed specifically for experienced, new and aspiring yoga teachers. The workshop is set for Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon.Studio Coordinator Rachel Nelson will guide participants through adjustments in common poses, including sun salutations, forward and back bends and twists. “The goal is to improve both confidence and skill in learning how to move with your studentsm,” Nelson said. “Being able to offer a safe adjustment in class can powerfully impact your teaching, and the experience of your students. We’ll be practicing on each other, so each participant will be offered the chance to both perform and feel the assist.”Nelson has been teaching yoga since 2005. As a former professional athlete with training in Thai massage, she offers a deep understanding of the body.
