VAIL — The warm temperatures and longer hours of daylight have inspired us to begin forecasting our spring wardrobe essentials. This fresh season may not bring 75-degree weather, but that shouldn’t deter you from incorporating the bouquet of vivid colors that the spring has to offer. While sorbet-inspired hues are on the forefront of everyone’s minds, it is the haute pinks that wowed us on the runways. From Helmut Lang’s sheer fuchsia dress to Chanel’s sunset-inspired ombre bag, we are tickled pink that it is finally spring!

Pink Outside the Box

On March 28, acclaimed Miami-based fashion designer Julian Chang will partner with the volunteer corps of the Vail Valley Medical Center for its 27th annual Diamonds are Forever fashion show and luncheon, which benefits the hospital’s ThinkFirst program. The “Diamonds Are Forever” James Bond film inspires the theme for this year’s fashion show, and Chang will showcase a unique collection. Although the black and white trend made its way back into our good graces this season, it is Chang’s hot pink Kiara Dress ($198, Merle Norman Boutique) that has our tails wagging. The Grecian-styled, floor length resort dress from Chang’s Spring Resort 2014 collection will grab your beau’s attention, especially with the mile-high slit and cinched waist.

Your alpine quests will still require some layering for the next couple of months. Be a fashion-phenom on the slopes in the Spyder Cameo Therma Stretch T-Neck ($85, Christy Sports, Double Diamond Ski Shop, Vail Sports, Pepi Sports) in flirt-splash, a vibrant fuchsia. The flattering silhouette is the perfect mid-layer or outer-layer when the sun heats up the alpine scene. The super-cute Spyder Core Sweater Ardent Full Zip Hoodie ($149, Bridge Street Ski Haus) also comes in the fab pink combo.

Indoor Attire

Off the mountain, you can jazz up your look with indoor attire that feels like spring despite the outside temperature. Pull on the crochet Jack by BB Dakota Jeslyn Sweater ($68, Kiwi Boutique) in the pretty, pink salmon rose. This super soft sweater may not take the chill out of your apres ski, but when worn with a figure-flattering tank underneath, your skin will glow. Between Alexander Wang, Christian Dior and Dolce & Gabbana, mini-skirts are hot off the runway. For alpine couturists, wearing a mini-mini might be frosty, but, when combo’d with Bootights Lacie Lace Darby knee-highs ($25, P.E. 101) in hot pink, you will looked dressed-to-kill.

Austin, Texas, jewelry designer Leigh Elena Navarro is bringing her tres-savvy jigsaw bracelets to the Vail Valley. Adorn your wrist with the blossoming pink-hued Leighelena Double Wrap Jigsaw Leather Bracelet ($188, Betty Ford Alpine Garden) in berry or the Leighelena Pink Snake Double Wrap Jigsaw ($188, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens) in pink. A must-wear accessory by Hollywood A-listers including super model Doutzen Kroes and “30 Rock” actress Katrina Bowden, Navarro’s jigsaw bracelets will give your ho-hum winter style a dazzling pick-me-up.

Sparkling ICE

Toast the crisp, new season with a no-guilt, zero calorie Sparkling ICE in the brand’s newest flavor launches — cherry limeade and strawberry watermelon ($1.19, Safeway in Vail). These sweet thirst-quenchers are bold with flavor and are a flawless springboard to apres ski cocktails. Mix up the strawberry watermelon with vodka, ice and fresh strawberries for frozen watermelon shooters or team up the cherry limeade with a splash of vodka and fresh raspberries for a quintessentially modern cherry limeade spritzer.

Spring Cleaning

Of course, as with any new season, the weather can wreak havoc on your skin causing an overabundance of dryness, oiliness and breakouts (yikes!). Begin your spring cleaning with a HydraFacial ($159-$259). Book an appointment with super-star esthetician Dawn King at Aria Spa at the Vail Cascade and let the facial slough away the winter’s residue, while at the same time hydrating your skin and filling it up with potent antioxidants.

Skin Authority has launched two new products that are perfect for combating your skin’s trials and tribulations in this region. The Skin Authority Skin Cleansing System ($59, Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch Spa) is the beauty brand’s first skin care device. Literally in seconds, the cleansing system exfoliates all of your nooks and crannies and will completely remove debris and unclog pores brought on by mountain culprits — sunscreen, sweat and hardcore runs. Rehydrate your skin from head to toe with Skin Authority’s Oil Nutrient for Face, Hair & Nails ($29, Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch Spa). This concentrated blend of nourishing, natural oils, including avocado, rosehip, grape seed and sunflower, absorbs quickly to hydrate and restore dry damaged skin, scalp, hair and nails.
