Have coffee with Avon Town Council members on June 10
AVON — Avon Mayor Jennie Fancher and Mayor Pro Tem Sarah Smith Hymes will host the first “Coffee with Council” on Saturday, June 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. on the Avon Performance Pavilion’s event terrace at Harry A. Nottingham Park. The session will follow the free community yoga offered most Saturday mornings on the terrace.
The Avon Town Council over the past year has expanded opportunities to hear from citizens on matters of interest, outside of regular council meetings. Coffee with Council is open to all community members who wish to engage with council members in a relaxed atmosphere. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
The town’s website — http://www.avon.org — is the most comprehensive location to follow current town initiatives, find meeting agendas, recreation and special events schedules and complete information on town government resources. Town press releases also are found on the website or maybe requested by signing up online.
Other Coffee with Council sessions are set for July 1, July 29 and Aug. 12.
For more information about the sessions, contact Avon Communications Manager Liz Wood at 970-748-4087 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
For downvalley humans, it’s pretty cool when elk decide to hunker down around Eagle for the winter. For the elk, it’s more of a lesser-of-two-evils situation.
