VAIL, Colorado – Vail Valley Medical Center and Shaw Regional Cancer Center are partnering with 9HealthFair, Colorado’s largest nonprofit, volunteer-driven health fair program, to provide a health fair in Edwards on Saturday. Scheduled from 7 a.m. to noon at Battle Mountain High School, the event will provide more than 20 free low-cost health screenings and educational activities to Eagle County residents.

Free screenings for adults include prostate/testicular screening, stress management screening, talk with a health professional, HIV/AIDS testing/education, adult vision screening, lung function screening, blood pressure screening.

Low cost screenings for adults include blood chemistry screening (blood draw cost is $30), blood count screening (blood draw cost is $15), PSA screening (men-only blood draw cost is $25), hemoglobin A1c (blood draw cost is $25) colon cancer screening kit (cost is $20).

Blood draw screenings require a 12-hour fast prior to the draw and will be available until 11:30 p.m. that day. Payment options for low-cost screenings include Visa, MasterCard, cash or check.

“VVMC is committed to providing wellness and health assessment opportunities like this one to all the residents of Eagle County and the region,” said Doris Kirchner, president and CEO of medical center.

Attending a 9Health Fair does not replace regular check-ups with a physician, and participants are encouraged to share results with their primary care physician for further diagnosis and treatment.
