Hear 100 years of Broadway in Vail Valley
VAIL VALLEY, Colorado – A cast of Broadway stars will perform Neil Berg’s musical revue, “100 Years of Broadway,” at the Vilar Center in Colorado’s Vail Valley at 7:30 p.m., on Friday. “100 Years of Broadway” brings classical musical performances to Beaver Creek from the most well-known Broadway shows, such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “South Pacific,” “My Fair Lady,” “Chicago,” “Les Miserables,” “Cats,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Jekyll & Hyde.”Berg is an award-winning Broadway composer and producer. Berg has produced more 1,000 Broadway concerts across the world with stars including Michael Crawford, Rita Moreno, Bernadette Peters and Ben Vereen. Berg will tour over 100 cities in 2010 with the show “100 Years of Broadway.”Among the Broadway stars who will perform in Beaver Creek is Rob Evan, who starred in the original Broadway cast of “Jekyll & Hyde” for three years, appearing over 600 times in the title role. Evan also is a member of the platinum-selling group the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Vilar Center Guild will reception before the show at 6 p.m. at the Beaver Creek Club. Tickets are $40 and include two drinks and a light sampling of cuisine from the Vail Valley chefs. “100 Years of Broadway” is a part of the Vilar Center’s ‘I Love NY’ series. The following New York-inspired restaurant specials will be available before and after the performance: 18-inch N.Y. style big moose pizza at the Blue Moose for $16; a three-course meal at the Beaver Creek Chophouse featuring empire New York strip oscar for $33; and the Big Apple roll and hot sake at Foxnut Asian Fusion & Sushi for $15. Patrons must show Vilar Center tickets to redeem and reservations are recommended.
