VAIL, Colorado –It’s not over yet, Vail Valley.

After a break in the weather this afternoon, storms will return this evening and more than a foot of snow could fall in Vail through Saturday.

A “broad and deep” winter storm is moving through the Rockies and Vail is under a winter storm warning until noon Saturday, the National Weather Service says.

Periods of heavy snow could limit visibility to less than a mile and accumulating snow could cause dangerous driving conditions, especially over mountain passes, the Weather Service says.

Between 3 and 7 inches of snow are expected tonight with another 3 to 7 inches forecast for Friday, the National Weather Service says.

The high Friday is 37, and the chance of precipitation is 90 percent, the Weather Service says.

Another 2 to 4 may fall Friday night, when lows drop into the low 30s, the Weather Service says.

The forecast for Saturday is snow before noon and scattered rain and snow in the afternoon. About an inch of snow could fall during the day, when highs will be in the mid 40s.

There is a 20 percent chance of snow on Saturday night and Sunday should be partly sunny, though there is a slight chance of rain or snow in the mountains, the Weather Service says.
