Hells Belles coming back to Vail
VAIL, Colorado Hells Belles brings its AC/DC tribute show to Arrabelle at Vail Square in Lionshead in Vail, Colorado on Wednesday for Bud Light Street Beat.Armed with a truckload of AC/DC classics, including Back in Black, TNT, Hells Bells, Highway to Hell and You Shook Me All Night Long, the Belles do more than justice to the Aussie legends.Wearing the signature tie and schoolgirl uniform, dreadlocked lead guitarist Adrian Conner plays the role of Angus Young, co-founder of AC/DC. Conner stamps and struts as she tackles Youngs legendary fretwork while band mates Mandy Reed (bassist Cliff Williams), Lisa Brisbois (rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young), Melodie Zapata (drummer Phil Rudd) and Jamie Nova (vocalists Bon Scott and Brian Johnson) take the audience on a precise and devoted head-banging journey.Although she has been with the band for eight years and has performed hundreds of shows around the world in tribute, Conner only recently saw AC/DC perform live in Tacoma, Wash.Theyre the greatest rock and roll band ever, Conner said. It was very boy-oriented, but its still good music, and I feel it is good hearted at the center of it.The bands new project, titled Highway to Black, is a 90-minute rock marathon comprising the complete albums of Highway to Hell and Back in Black. It makes it tangible for people who werent into AC/DC before, Conner said. We give it a new face. All Bud Light Street Beat free concerts get under way at 6 p.m. at either Checkpoint Charlie in the heart of Vail Village or at the Arrabelle at Vail Square in Lionshead.
