EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado – The committee building a 2-mile trail through Eagle-Vail needs volunteers Saturday.

The Eagle-Vail Trail Committee seeks volunteers to help with digging and raking on the path, committee chairman Paul Hields said. A similar work day last month attracted 63 volunteers, he said.

When finished, the Eagle-Vail trail will begin at the end of the Stone Creek trail (also known as Paulie’s Plunge), by the 17th tee bridge on the Eagle-Vail golf course, Hields said. It ends at the 10th tee, by Grouse Court and the Shop n’ Hop, he said. The trail is designed for walking, cycling and running.

“It will be a perfect end to the Paulie’s Plunge mountain bike trail and it will give good access to other trails that go up into Beaver Creek,” Hields said.

The Eagle-Vail Metropolitan District, Eagle-Vail Property Owners’ Association and Eagle County provided $50,000 for the trail, he said earlier. They contracted with the U.S. Forest Service to build the trail, Hields said.

Hields expects the trail to be finished by Oct. 31.
