The people have spoken and the votes have been counted!
The winners of the 2023 Best of Vail Valley contest have been announced in the Vail Daily’s annual readers’ poll.
The Best of Vail Valley process was lengthy, starting with a 10-day nomination period in July. Then, the votes were cast between Aug. 11 and Aug. 20. All the votes were counted and the results are being displayed in the 2023 Best of the Vail Valley magazine, which is on newsstands now.
“We’re happy to congratulate the winners across all categories,” said Danielle Hanson, advertising director for the Vail Daily. “It’s a testament to all the hard-working and customer-focused businesses here in the Vail Valley.”
The contest highlights over 120 categories in six different topics: Arts and Activities, Body and Soul, Food and Drink, Health, Service and Shopping.

“I’m really excited about our Service category. It’s our second biggest category following Food and Drink and it showcases everything from A to Z. From architects and auto services to veterinarians and wedding venues,” Hanson said. “We have a lot of new categories this year including Best Company to Work For.”
Whether you are looking for the best place for a romantic date, where to get your bike fixed, get a massage or who to call if your tooth hurts, use the Best of the Vail Valley results as your guide, sourced by the community.
“It’s always interesting to hear the public’s input. This reader’s survey is a great way for the public’s voice to be heard and to share their thoughts with our longtime locals and our guests who come to the Vail Valley,” Hanson said.
New this year is a website and tool that will act as a one-stop-shop that will take the information from this contest and offer quick and reliable answers to inquiries on where to go and what to do. It’s called BestOfVailValley.com and it will publish short lists of the best food, services and more.
A few years ago, my husband and I were going to grab dinner and he said he felt like having a burger. I happened to have the Best of Vail Valley magazine at the house and looked up Best Burger and Craftsman was one of the top winners in that category, so we went there. Now, my husband always wants to go there for the award-winning Schmidt Mac. Having the website at your disposal all the time will give you plenty of opportunities to instantly find the best of the best or mix it up and try someplace you’ve never been to before.
“The idea for BestofVailValley.com came about as we considered new ways to make our Arts and Entertainment coverage better to serve our locals and visitors,” said Sean Naylor, assistant editor of the Vail Daily.
“The section has always been a go-to for our events calendar and in-depth coverage of the artists that come to our valley, but what it has always needed are those quick-hit opportunities to help those searching directly for the best nearby dining, shopping, activities and more.”
In addition to the listings, BestofVailValley.com will provide an interactive map that not only shows the winners in the Best of Vail Valley contest but also the finalists who offer great products and services and may be physically closer to the person conducting the search.
“So whether you’re checking into your hotel as a first-time visitor, or you’re a longtime local wanting to try something new, BestofVailValley.com has all you need and more,” Naylor said.
Congratulations to all of the winners and the mentions in this year’s Best of Vail Valley readers’ poll and new website. And, a big thank you to all those who nominated and voted for their favorites. We couldn’t do this contest without you.
