Here’s how to cast absentee ballots in town of Vail’s election on Nov. 7
September 12, 2017
VAIL — The town of Vail regular municipal election Nov. 7 will be conducted as a polling place election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 75 South Frontage Road in the Vail Municipal Building. Voters will decide two items: Vail Town Council members and a ballot proposal addressing the town's ability to provide cable television services, telecommunications services and high-speed internet services. If you're not available to vote at the polls on Election Day, there is a process to obtain a ballot by mail.
Registered voters wanting to vote early are encouraged to request an absentee application from the town clerk's office. The application form is available from the clerk's office in the Vail Municipal Building, or on the town's website, http://www.vailgov.com. The deadline to request an absentee voting request form is Nov. 3.
Absentee voting (early voting) will begin at the Vail Municipal Building Oct. 26 during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. All absentee ballots must be returned to the clerk's office by end of Election Day, 7 p.m. on Nov. 7, either submitted by mail or hand-delivered. The clerk's office encourages those who are not in town to obtain an absentee ballot.
Vail electors can also choose to become permanent absentee voters, in which a ballot would be mailed with every election in the future. This status is accomplished by completing an application for "permanent absentee voter status" with the town clerk's office.
