The 2012 Vail Valley Medical Center Volunteer Corps Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon brought a splash of color and excitement to the Vail Marriott on Friday with a burst of glamour and gowns. The theme, “Anything Goes,” played out true to form, as there was live music, operatic singing, acting and, of course, fashion from head to toe. Each year, the Volunteer Corps contributes all of the proceeds from this event to VVMC to assist with the purchase of necessary equipment. This year, contributions benefit the Mobile Simulation Lab, state-of-the-art training for medical staff, emergency personnel and outreach teams.

“We have a fabulous team behind this whole show,” said Anna-Maria Ray, event chair. “It is truly a collaboration.”

She thanked her “beautiful, charming and supportive co-chair, Sandy Jacaruso.”

Ray elaborated, pointing to the audience, “This show is not possible without all of you. You are what makes this happen and what makes things happen at the Vail Valley Medical Center.”

According to Ray, the event “raised more money this year than in previous years.”

President of U.S. Bank (the presenting sponsor) Bill Burns complemented the volunteers, saying, “I have had the pleasure and opportunity to spend time at the rehearsals, and the models here come from their second jobs to volunteer and spend time working really hard.”

Hundreds of volunteer hours are poured into the Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon each year. Gratitude was expressed to all of the event sponsors, as well as the fabulous models, actors, hair stylists, makeup artists and behind-the-scenes volunteers for all of their efforts.
