High Altitude Society: Vail Youth Ballet Company dances at the Four Seasons
High Altitude Society
Vail, CO Colorado
Julia Kozusko greeted guests at the Four Seasons Resort Vail by making them aware of Friends of the Dance, a nonprofit group that supports dance education in the Vail Valley. Kozusko was excited for the crowd and introduced the group of dancers, ranging from seventh to 12th grades and all from the Vail Youth Ballet Company. The dancers performed pieces from “Sleeping Beauty” they’d performed earlier at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek.
Angelica Palladino, of the Four Seasons Resort, has a daughter who dances.
“That immediately sparked, for us, the desire to do something with our community and give the dancers the forum to showcase their talents. Not everybody has the opportunity to go to the Vilar Center (to see “Sleeping Beauty”). It is just so beautiful, especially during the holiday season.”
The Company rehearsed on Dec. 16, the Four Seasons placed a dance floor in the lobby, and it was showtime.
Vail Youth Ballet Company Board member Julia Kozusko said, “The dancers love to perform out in the community. It is nice for them to come to the people. They want to perform as much as they can for practice and just because they love it.”
Participate in The Longevity Project
The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
Kozusko said they approached the Four Seasons, which, with Palladino, was happy to help organize the event.
“The Four Seasons could not have been more nice,” Kozusko said.
Look for the same royal treatment if you happen to ring in the New Year with the Four Seasons, which is planning a Vueve Clicquot dance party in a heated tent above the pool.
