EAGLE COUNTY — On Thursday at about 2:20 p.m., the Vail Public Safety Communication Center received numerous 911 calls concerning a reckless driving suspect. A silver Nissan SUV was driving westbound on Interstate 70 at Vail Pass at 100 mph and running motorists off the road.

Law enforcement officers from the Vail Police Department, Avon Police Department, Colorado State Patrol and Eagle County Sheriff’s Office attempted to catch up to the vehicle. The driver eventually stopped due to heavy traffic just east of Eagle, 40 miles later.

The two vehicle occupants were arrested upon stopping. Approximately one half ounce of crystal methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.

Both suspects were transported to the Eagle County Detention Facility and are each being held on $2,000 bonds.
