Hike, Wine & Dine set for Sunday in Beaver Creek
VAIL, Colorado – Hikers participating in the second annual Hike, Wine & Dine can leave the Powerbars and granola at home. Instead, they will refuel on their Sunday hike with gourmet cuisine and wine pairings.”Last year was a unique and fun event and one that’s sure to become an annual classic,” says Sue Franciose, member of the Shaw Outreach Team. “The fall colors should be at their peak, adding to the entire experience.”The hike will take place on Beaver Creek Mountain and include food from The Osprey, D’Oro, Beano’s Cabin, The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa, Dusty Boot, Rimini, Grouse Mountain Grill, and the Beaver Creek Chophouse at various stations along the trail. The tax deductible registration cost is $100 per person by Thursday and $125 the day of the event. Donation includes food, wine and a commemorative gift. Children under 12 are free and children ages 12-18 are $50. All proceeds go to Jack’s Place.”Since opening in March of 2007, Jack’s Place has provided more than 3,000 nights of safe and comfortable accommodations for patients of Vail Valley Medical Center’s Shaw Regional Cancer Center and their caregivers,” said Brandon Mays, Jack’s Place house manager. “There is no financial obligation for patients staying at Jack’s Place; we rely on donations and the Hike, Wine & Dine event to help offset our operating costs. A special thanks to the family of Thomas Francis and all other participating sponsors for making this event possible.”Hike, Wine & Dine is limited to 300 participants. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. Coffee, mimosas and light breakfast will be served at the base of Beaver Creek’s Centennial Lift.
