Hispanics have highest rate of uninsured in Colorado
DENVER, Colorado – Colorado health officials say Hispanics and Native Americans have the highest percentage of adults without health insurance in the state.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is holding a meeting Wednesday to discuss a report that says about 40 percent of Hispanics are without health insurance.
The report says almost 34 percent of Native Americans are uninsured, while the rate of uninsured for the entire state is about 16.6 percent.
The report examines health issues that disproportionally affect some racial and ethnic groups.
