Holiday edition of Mini Music Makers Club set for Friday in Minturn

Daily staff report
VAIL CO, Colorado

MINTURN –Minturn continues celebrating the holiday season. A special holiday version of the Mini Music Makers Club will take place Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Minturn Music. The store has stepped up to bring the community together through music. Recently they hosted a free concert by Alibi Day on stage and continue to host a weekly community jam session Wednesday nights. The Mini Music Makers Club focuses on introducing sounds, rhythm and rhyme to kids of all ages through play-a-longs and activities. The club met weekly during the summer and was guided by local musicians who volunteered their time to the event.

Kevin Heinz, local musician and guitar instructor at Minturn Music, will lead this special event. Heinz has led Mini Music Makers Club in the past. His last club meeting had the kids filling in the blanks of a song to make it their own. Music and refreshments will be provided along with a fun, holiday story read by Jodi Jahrling from the Minturn Community Fund to kick off the hour. Minturn Music will also have great deals on last minute, musical gifts including specialty items for kids.

The event is appropriate for kids of any age, from babies in laps listening while their mom shakes a maraca, to bigger kids who are learning to keep the beat.
