EDWARDS, Colorado – The first Holiday Market at Alpine Arts Center in Edwards is set for this weekend, with over a dozen booths of local arts and crafts. The Holiday Market will take place Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Alpine Arts Center in the Edwards Commercial Park. The public is invited to browse artists’ booths, enjoy cider and cookies, and view a special silent auction table of items that will benefit Alpine Arts youth scholarships program.

“The Holiday Market is a great way to avoid the shopping mall frenzy, find more personalized gifts, and support local artists and businesses,” says Lauren Merrill, owner of Alpine Arts Center. “And if you’re planning to go up to Beaver Creek for the World Cup, come warm up with some cider, cookies and gift shopping during or after the races.”

Items for sale include ornaments, pottery, paintings, jewelry, holiday ice sculptures, home accessories, handmade cards and more. In addition, Alpine Arts Center will have an “under $5” table with items perfect for stocking stuffers and smaller gifts.

For customers who prefer to make their own gifts this year, Alpine Arts Center offers the perfect venue for gift making. The paint-your-own pottery selection is ideal for personalized gifts, and their craft bins are stocked with materials needed to make custom picture frames, vases, cards, paintings, holiday decorations and more. Also going on this Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. is a handmade glass ornaments workshop for all ages, where participants will be guided through the process of creating glass ornaments and gifts. Pre-registration is required for this workshop, which may be done through Alpine Arts Center’s website.

More information on the upcoming Holiday Market, Glass Ornaments workshop, and other Alpine Arts Center programs can be found at or by calling 970-926-2732.
