Honor the Fallen are set to rock Avon Saturday night
Vail, CO, Colorado
This summer, a week before Honor the Fallen was set to kick off their first tour ever, they got an e-mail. It contained the news that nobody in the band thought they would ever get ” they had won a spot on stage at the Vans Warped Tour stop in Salt Lake City, Utah. Previously they had signed up for a battle of the bands contest and were one of four acts guaranteed stage time at the popular, national tour.
“That was an amazing experience,” recalled Jerrod Fassler, bass player for the Broomfield quintet.
Not only did the guys from Fallen (Fassler, Kenny Sienkeiwicz on drums, Dylan Neise on guitar, Dan Ha on keys and Matt Guerin on vocals) know the tour was their big moment to shine, but they got to share the stage with some of their favorite bands, clearly an honor for Fassler.
“Any time you get to play with any big bands like that, any signed bands, it’s definitely a great experience,” Fassler said.
Loaded Joe’s in Avon will host Honor The Fallen Saturday night; the band hopes to leave a strong impression on their audience.
“They’re a young ” literally young ” up-and-coming heavy metal band, and I enjoy their sound,” said G. C. Austin, manager of Loaded Joe’s.
The average age of the band members is 19, with Fassler being the oldest at 21. So while they may play at bars or places where the alcohol is flowing, most of them can’t even drink yet.
“We’re not party kids anyway, so it doesn’t really affect us too much,” Fassler said.
