Hoobastank added to Spring Back lineup

Special to the Daily Hoobastank sprouted in the Los Angeles suburbs at a battle-of-the-bands contest more than 10 years ago. The grunge boys will play for Spring Back to Vail April 8 at Ford Park.

VAIL – P.O.D., Hoobastank and G. Love and Special Sauce will headline Spring Back to Vail live concerts April 7 and April 8 in Ford Park. The concerts are part of the two-week season-ending bash, which runs April 3-16.G. Love and Special Sauce will appear in concert Friday, April 7. P.O.D. and Hoobastank will appear in concert Saturday, April 8. The concert will be filmed by MTV Networks’ high-definition channel, MHD, to be aired at a later date. “We’re excited to have three tremendously talented bands take center stage at Spring Back,” said Amy Hornyak of Highline Sports & Entertainment, producers of Spring Back to Vail. “Our partnership with MTV Networks and MHD, their high definition channel, has nicely complimented our efforts in bringing fresh new music to Vail. They are, after all, the music experts.”

Philly native Garrett Dutton, a.k.a. G. Love, and Special Sauce’s James Prescott and Jeffrey Clemens, broke into the limelight with their self-titled debut in 1994. A decade later, they released their sixth album, “The Hustle,” comprised of reflective songs about love, life and lemonade. Foot stompin’ G. Love favorites sure to be heard include “Cold Beverages” and “Baby’s Got Sauce.”Multi-platinum rockers P.O.D. bring a resume of chart-topping radio hits, sold-out international concert tours, and three No. 1 videos on MTV’s “Total Request Live.” The group’s groundbreaking 2001 release, “Satellite,” featured hit singles including, “Alive,” “Youth of the Nation” and “Boom.”Hoobastank sprouted in the Los Angeles suburbs at a battle-of-the-bands contest more than 10 years ago. Since then, the band has found success balancing heavy alternative rock with a California groove. This post-grunge foursome continues to be heard on the airwaves with hits including “Same Direction” and “The Reason.”

For Friday night’s show, tickets are $20. Day of, tickets are available online only for $30. No tickets will be available at the door.Saturday’s concert tickets are $10.
