EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – Downvalley youngsters can grab their baskets and hunt for Easter eggs Saturday at events in Eagle and Gypsum. Here’s a rundown of egg-gathering events planned in the area:

Youngsters ages under one year to 10 years can participate in the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Eagle Town Park on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Hunts are separated for different age groups. The event will happen, rain or shine or snow, and participants should BYOB (Bring Your Own Baskets).

Following the egg hunt, kids up to age 12 are invited to compete in the annual Eggaurnaut contest.

Competitors are invited to build a protection contraption around an egg and then, with the assistance of the Eagle Fire Department firefighters and their ladder truck, the protected eggs are dropped from 20 feet high to see if they will break.

The Eagle events are hosted by the town of Eagle, Yeik Flooring and Beveridge Real Estate.
