VAIL — Hot Buttered Rum lives for a good time, and they’re bringing that good time to Vail to kick off the second annual Vail Summer Bluegrass Series today. K-Law, an up-and-coming solo musician out of Denver, will open the show. The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is scheduled to take place at Arrabelle at Vail Square at 6 p.m., rain or shine.

Before the Arrabelle festivities take place, Hot Buttered Rum will perform a special acoustic set at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens’ Alpine Plaza at 1 p.m. for the free Bluegrass in the Gardens.

Following the headlining set at the Arrabelle, bluegrass fans can head over to Shakedown Bar for the official after-party featuring Vail locals the Drunken Hearts.

A limited number of preferred seating tickets can still be purchased at for $30 each.

The remaining Vail Summer Bluegrass Series dates are: Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers) and Roosevelt Collier on July 15; Steep Canyon Rangers on July 29; and Grant Farm and the Dead Winter Carpenters on Aug. 12. Visit for more information.
