How heart heath affects you
VAIL, CO, Colorado
February is heart awareness month – not the candy hearts for your Valentine, but the big muscle that keeps you ticking. Did you know that cholesterol and high blood pressure are not the only things to be aware of when evaluating your risk for cardiovascular disease? Hormone imbalances in men and women, blood sugar issues and inflammation are three other critical mechanisms that directly affect cardiovascular health and risk for chronic disease.
Jacqui Slavin, a local functional medicine practitioner, will discuss the interplay between hormones, inflammation and blood sugar as they relate to cholesterol, blood pressure and overall cardiovascular health.
Learn about the various mechanisms that can cause degeneration in our bodies – what we often call “aging” – and how to address imbalances in testosterone and estrogen from a natural perspective. Understand why hormone replacement therapy may not be addressing underlying mechanisms and how to evaluate your current status.
If you are concerned about cholesterol, blood pressure, hormone and sugar imbalances and your overall health, this informational talk addressing mechanisms of heart disease and aging is a must. This free community education presentation is open to the public and hosted by the Avon Public Library on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
For additional information, contact Slavin at 970-376-7779.
