Huskies hockey hosts youth clinics
EDWARDS — The Battle Mountain High School varsity hockey players and their coaches are hosting a youth skill clinic from 5:45 to 7 p.m. today at the Eagle Ice Rink. Another clinic will also be held on Dec. 29. Hockey players ages 5 to 10 years old are invited to skate with the Huskies on the clinic days to develop their skills during the holiday break.
Huskies players will help head coach Dennis Hextall and the coaching staff run skills and drills so all participants get extra help and personal tips during the clinic. This is a great opportunity for young players to meet high school players and coaches while learning new skills. As the only varsity hockey program in the valley, the team includes students from Battle Mountain, Eagle Valley, Vail Christian, Vail Mountain School and home school.
The clinics help support the team as a portion of the proceeds will go to the Husky hockey program. The cost is $15 per session or $25 for both sessions. Interested participants can pre-register at http://www.wecmrd.org or call the Eagle Ice Rink at 970-328-5277.
