Hwy. 6 still closed between Eagle-Vail, Dowd Junction
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE-VAIL ” U.S. Highway 6 between Eagle-Vail and Dowd Junction may be closed a “few days” after a mudslide covered the part of the highway Sunday.
Highway 6 is closed from Kayak Crossing to Dowd Junction until crews are able to clean it up, said Martha Miller, resident engineer for the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Heavy snowfall this year could make more mudslides possible, Miller said.
“With these heavy snows we could have a lot of rock slides, a lot of mudslides,” Miller said.
