I-70 at Vail Pass reopens eastbound following 4-hour closure

Vail Pass has reopened eastbound between Exit 180 in East Vail and Exit 190 at Vail Pass Summit. The road closed at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday for safety concerns, according to CDOT.

Eagle County went under a winter storm watch Sunday as two storms move into the area, which will bring up to 1-2 feet of snow accumulation by Thanksgiving. “Travel could become difficult,” the National Weather Service wrote. “Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will become slick and hazardous.”
