I-70 partially open after 20-car pileup near Frisco
A 20-car-pile up closed Interstate 70 closed just west of Frisco for several hours. One lane in each direction was reopened at 7:40 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transporation.
At least three people were transported to Summit Medical Center with injuries, according to Colorado State Patrol spokesman Nathaniel Reid.
Severe weather and snow conditions caused problems for the area much of the afternoon. The National Weather Service expects 3 to 6 inches of snow in the area through tonight.
The Colorado Department of Transportation website is suggesting motorists use U.S. 24 as an alternate route.
Earlier in the day westbound lanes of I-70 were closed for an hour while multiple accidents were cleared off the road. No injuries were reported then.
