I-70 reopens over Vail Pass

VAIL, Colorado – Crews were reopening Interstate 70 at 10 p.m. Tuesday night following a closure of more than five hours.
Westbound I-70 had been reopened, while eastbound lanes were being opened gradually, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Interstate 70 had been closed westbound and eastbound from mile 180 East Vail to mile 248 near Idaho Springs.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from noon Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. The service predicted 8 to 16 inches.
