My brother, Chuck, recently died after an eight-month struggle with lung cancer. He was a great guy and someone I will miss very much. However, thoughts of him will be with me each and every day.
In his memory, I would like to thank two wonderful groups which all of us are fortunate to have here in the valley.
First of all, I would like to thank the Shaw Regional Cancer Center. There could not be a more professional, skilled, and caring group of people anywhere. We are so fortunate to have Dr. Rifkin and Dr. Hardenbergh here to treat people with cancer, as well as Kathy, Brad, Ellie, Vanessa, Alena, Julie, Andy, Karen and the other members of their support team.
Secondly, I want to thank the Vail Valley Home Health and Mountain Hospice. They were truly instrumental in making the last month of Chuck’s life as comfortable as possible. I would especially like to thank Lynn, Kathy, Carla, Ann, Mary Katherine, Karla, Sue, Brett, Megan and Tammy for the services, love and support you gave us during the final stages of his illness.
All of the people I have mentioned above were always there when we needed them and for that I will be forever grateful.
