Dr. William Robinson, a world-renowned melanoma expert, will speak in Vail on July 26, at the Sonnenalp Hotel. The breakfast meeting will be at 9 a.m. and is sponsored by the Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation and the Jeff Dulude Melanoma Foundation. Robinson will speak on the genetics, the status of melanoma clinical trials and melanoma prevention.
Robinson is an active clinical and basic investigator who is studying the rapid advance in melanoma treatment based on gaining a deeper understanding of the disease in the laboratory.
ABOUT THE SONNENALP OF VAIL FOUNDATION
The Sonnenalp of Vail Foundation was founded in 1998 by Rosana and Johannes Faessler to enhance the quality of life for the residents of the Eagle Valley community with particular focus on the medical and educational needs of children and families.
The foundation’s annual Scramble Against Cancer is in its 16th year, donating more than $1.8 million to the Sonnenalp Breast Center at the Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards.
The Jeff Dulude Melanoma Foundation is dedicated to melanoma awareness, prevention and research. The foundation was created in memory of Jeff Dulude who was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in 1991 and died at the young age of 37.
