Music Man Jr.

Anna “Ya Gotta Have Art” Scully called to remind the world that the Vail Performing Arts Academy still has a few spaces left for its production of the “Music Man Junior.” Final auditions are this Saturday. Rehearsals start in July and the show runs Aug. 9-10 at the Vilar Center. Call 949-8016.

Eco-Challenge On the Air

USA Network is broadcasting Eco-Challenge New Zealand 2001, starting this Sunday. It’s a 4-night miniseries, starring local endur and Eco-Stud Mike Kloser. The local guys won, as you’ll recall, which makes it worh watching all by itself. It’s also cool t see just what these people put themselves through.

The Bookworm’s 6th annual Writing Contest is looking for honest-to-Shakespeare word people who want to win prizes, some involving Actual American Dollars. The three categories are poetry (150-word limit) fiction/short story and nonfiction essay (both 5,000-word limit). The deadline is April 19, so write like the wind. Call 926-7323.

All That Adult Jazz

Lee Harding is teaching adult jazz dance classes at the Valley Vail Academy of Dance in the Edwards Commercial Building. They’re Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:45-7:45 p.m., June 4 through June 27. The $100 course fee is due by May 1. Call Lee at 845 8936.
