Independence Pass to open Thursday

INDEPENDENCE PASS, Colorado ” The high-altitude highway between Aspen and Leadville will open at 2 p.m., Thursday, after road crews cleared record-setting amounts of snow.

The Colorado Department of Transportation is warning motorists that winter condition may still occasionally exist on Independence, but that the stretch of Highway 82 should remain open all summer.
