Injured roofer rescued in Vail Village

Special to the DailyThis worker was installing a new roof on the Visitor Information Center building at the Vail Transportation Center when he injured his knee and had to be rescued.

VAIL ” A worker who injured his knee while removed shingles from the roof of the Vail Transportation Center had to be rescued Wednesday afternoon.

The worker, who not was not released, was wearing a harness and was tied to a rope when he slipped on a shingle around 3 p.m., Vail fire Chief John Gulick said.

It took nine firefighters about 45 minutes to lower the man from the roof.
