Eagle, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado –Punching a fellow prisoner lead to an assault charge for an Eagle jail inmate.
Police responded to the Eagle County Detention Facility on Aug. 4 about a fight that took place the morning of Aug. 3. An inmate had reported to the nurse with a bloody lip and was transported to urgent care to receive stitches.
The injured inmate claimed another prisoner punched him several times. The victim claimed the other prisoner had been giving him a hard time because the injured inmate had shingles and the attacker was worried because he had never had the chicken pox.
A surveillance video showed two altercations between the prisoners. The inmate who did the punching was charged with third degree assault, which is a class one misdemeanor.
