Interstate 70 barrier work on west side of Vail Pass continues through fall
EAGLE COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation and New Design Construction resumed construction Friday near the town of Vail on the west side of Interstate 70 Vail Pass to replace barriers and bridge rails.
Project work begins at milepost 180 and extends approximately six miles to milepost 186. Work began on this project in June 2016 and is scheduled to be complete by fall 2017.
Travelers should expect intermittent single-lane closures in the eastbound and westbound directions and possible minor traffic delays through the area during road improvements.
Construction will take place Monday through Thursday during daylight hours. There is no night or weekend work planned. Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone, and there will be an 11-foot width restriction in place during working hours.
