Items stolen from unlocked cars in Eagle-Vail

EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado – Five vehicles were reported to have been entered in Eagle-Vail late Wednesday or early Thursday morning, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said. All vehicles were parked in residential areas and were left unlocked, authorities said. IPods and wallets were among various items stolen from the vehicles.

Anyone who believes their vehicle was broken into in the Eagle-Vail area should call 970-479-2200 to make a report.

Whether you leave your car for a minute or for several hours, roll up the windows, secure the doors, and take the keys, the Sheriff’s Office said. Keep packages or valuables in the trunk, and, if you leave anything in the car, make certain it is covered and out of sight, the Sheriff’s Office said.
