On Earth Day you can rest easy.Slifer Designs has come up with Pura Vida bed, recently featured in national magazine Mountain Living.Pura Vida is made from 100 percent entirely sustainable materials. This is a education process and in the end, we all benefit from living a better life.”Contact the Slifer Designs showroom at 926-8200.Special features and innovations:Red Pillow Fabric- composed of organic wool and man-made cellulose fiberLighting- low voltage directional fiber optic lighting, built into the bedBead & Shell Accent Pillows- wood & shells harvested in a sustainable manner in the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia (where the manufacturer has also assisted with tsunami relief efforts). Fabric is finely hand-woven abaca.Mattress System- natural rubber mattress with organic cotton/wool/silk cover and dowel foundation. Naturally antibacterial, hypoallergenic, mold and dust free. Green Pillow Fabric- wool and ramie, developed by McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) and Designtex. Considered a biological nutrient fabric because it is compostable and designed to turn back into soil at the end of its useful life. Ever dye chemical is nontoxic, and the water flowing from the plant at the end of the manufacturing process is safe to drink.
