January brings Health Challenge, new Yoga Beat class at Studio Anjali in The Westin
AVON — The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa wants to help you kick off 2016 feeling healthy and empowered with a Yoga Beat class on Saturday, Jan. 2, at Studio Anjali and a January Health Challenge beginning Monday, Jan. 11, at The Athletic Club at the Westin.
Studio Anjali brings back its popular Yoga Beat class on Saturday, Jan. 2, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Taught by Tara Goike, this Level 2 Vinyasa yoga practice will concentrate on your core and waistline, flowing to a groovy yoga beat. DJ Kirby K will mix a down-tempo blend of electronic beats to guide your breath and movements.
This challenging class will rinse your body clean of toxins before ending in a rested, meditative state of bliss. The cost for the class is $20 in advance or $30 for drop-in.
Led by certified master nutrition therapist Christine Pierangeli the January Health Challenge is a four-week opportunity to hit the reset button on your health using a whole foods-based nutrition plan that provides daily tips, recipes and support. Learn more at a kickoff meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 5:30 p.m.
Pierangeli earned her credentials as a master nutrition therapist from Denver’s acclaimed Nutrition Therapy Institute.
A highlight of the workshop is the Elimination Cleanse, where participants will cut out all sugar, gluten, caffeine, alcohol and animal products. Participants can also take part in a mid-challenge nutrition foundations seminar on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 5:30 p.m. and a final celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
