Jazz duo BLT performs Sunday at Kelly Liken with special guests

VAIL — Restaurant Kelly Liken will host a special musical performance on Sunday evening at the final Harvest Dinner of the season. BLT, the musical duo of Tony Gulitzia, aka Tony G, and Brian Loftus will be joined by special guest percussionists Joey Gulizia, Tony’s brother, and Michael Pujado. In town for the 18th year of Jazz Goes To School, Joey Gulizia, and Pujado will join Tony G and Loftus in the dining room of Kelly Liken. The music starts at 8:30 p.m. During the next few weeks, the musicians will visit 14 area schools bringing the sounds of jazz to kids across the Vail Valley. The curriculum traces the roots of jazz from the rhythms of traditional African instruments to well-loved jazz standards.
“The kids love all the different instruments they get to try,” said Tony G.
BLT is about to embark on a tour in Japan bringing modern American Jazz to a long list of cities, so this may be your last chance to see them before they go.

The last Harvest Dinner of the season has always been one of the best menus, highlighting beautiful late harvest vegetables.
“The end of the Harvest Dinners is always a little sad; we’ll miss them until next year… but we like to go out with a bang!” said chef and owner Kelly Liken.
The menu this Sunday will be created around the beautiful fruits and vegetables rolling into the farmers market from the fields of Colorado. Liken draws inspiration for her spontaneous three-course Sunday Supper menu ($49 per person, plus tax and tip) from the plethora of farmers who call Colorado home. Guests can choose between a soup or salad to start, a choice of three different entree options and a set dessert.
“Sundays are a time for our local community to really enjoy themselves over good food, great wine, cocktails and music,” Liken said.
