Jennifer Beatty now leads Slifer Designs’ ‘Green Team’

Vail, CO, Colorado

EDWARDS ” Slifer Designs’ in-house “Green Team” is celebrating it’s fifth anniversary with a new leader, Jennifer Beatty. Beatty, who has been with Slifer Designs since 1999, is also a member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

“I am excited to take the Green Team to the next level,” said Beatty. “We have worked hard to educate ourselves, the community and our clients why green design is important. Our goal for the next five years is to incorporate green elements into all of our projects.”

The Green Team recently financed the recycling bins at the Vail Post Office. “This effort was led by our employees who were passionate about this issue and paid for it themselves until the post office received funding to pay for it on their own,” Beatty said.

Slifer Designs is now working on several projects that are considered Green: Ameya Preserve in Livingston, Mont.; Shadowrock in El Jebel; and the Jackson Hole Tennis and Golf Club. Previous green projects include the Slifer Smith and Frampton Breckenridge Sales Center, Brightwater Club’s Cast Off Cabin, in Gypsum, and Tonapalo and Old Greenwood in Lake Tahoe.

“With a steady flow of requests for green design, we are excited about the future and our potential to act responsibly toward our fragile environment,” Beatty said.

Slifer Designs recently sponsored the Healthy Homes Tour, an event organized by the Vail Symposium, is a sponsor of the Green Building Group and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
